
Thailand had to settle for a bronze medal after losing to Indonesia 3-1 in the semi-finals of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship in Tsingtao, China, on Saturday.
Mixed doubles pair Supak Jomkoh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai gave Thailand a great start after they defeated beat Dejan Ferdinansyah and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti 21-13, 22-20.
However the Indonesians bounced back to win the next three points to earn their place in the final of the mixed team championship on Sunday.
Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul lost to Alwi Farhan 13-21, 18-21 in the men's singles event; women's singles star Busanan Ongbamrungphan was beaten by Putri Kusuma Wardani 10-21, 8-21 and men's doubles pair Peeratchai Sukphun and Pakkapon Teeraratsakul went down to Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Daniel Marthin 13-21, 16-21.
China and Japan were to face off in the second semi-final match later.
