Pathum suffer another blow
Struggling Chiang Rai United extended BG Pathum United's wait for their first win of the Thai League 1 second leg by inflicting a 1-0 defeat on the Rabbits on Saturday night.
Sittichok Kannoo scored the winning goal in the 38th minute to help the Beetles pick up three points and distance themselves from the three-team relegation zone.
Pathum's interim coach Supachai Komsilp admitted after the away game that it was a "disappointing result for the team as we had come here looking for a turning point.
"We started well but lost confidence after conceding the goal. We did better in the second half but couldn't score. This is what we have to improve."
"We are in need of a quick fix," Supachai added.
Pathum are schedule to face Shan United in Myanmar on Wednesday in a Shopee Cup game.
The other match on Saturday night between hosts Nongbua Pitchaya and Lamphun Warriors ended in a goalless stalemate.
In Monday night's battles, Port will be hoping to resurrect their campaign at Sukhothai and second-placed Bangkok United will be gunning for a home victory over Nakhon Pathom United.
