ONE Championship touts ‘crazy’ ONE 170 TV rating, digital viewership records in Thailand
ONE Championship has touted a “crazy” television rating and digital viewership records in Thailand for last week’s blockbuster ONE 170 card in Bangkok.
The event, which took place in front of more than 10,000 fans at a sold out Impact Arena, was also trending on multiple major social media platforms, according to the martial arts promotion.
Friday night’s show, headlined by Tawanchai PK Saenchai’s successful featherweight Muay Thai title defence against Superbon, drew a 5.01 rating on local station Channel 7HD, which has exclusive television broadcast rights to ONE in Thailand.
It was said to be the most-watched show of any content genre in its time slot – and just shy of the 5.1 rating drawn by ONE Friday Fights 34 in September 23, headlined by Rodtang Jitmuangnon’s highly anticipated clash with Superlek Kiatmookao.
ONE 170’s rating came from approximately 2.8 million households across the country, an official press release said, noting there may be more than one viewer per household.
Digital viewership on ONE’s official social channels was also 60 per cent up on the promotion’s previous record high, the release added, while Channel 7HD posted its highest number of digital viewers too.
ONE 170 is said to have also broken the promotion’s trending records worldwide on major social media platforms such as Google, X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube in countries such as the United States, Japan, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
“Thank you to the Thai Government, the Royal Thai Military, Channel 7, Tero, and all of our other partners for working tirelessly together to create history for our country,” ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong said in a Facebook post.
“I cannot thank my fellow Thai fans enough for making ONE the most popular sports property in Thai history,” Chatri added in another post.
“I am truly full of love and gratitude for my beloved Thai brothers and sisters everywhere.”
