Brown vows to shock Buriram
Muang Thong United striker Felicio Brown is excited at the prospect of facing league leaders Buriram United in the Thai League 1 tomorrow.
"This will be a huge game for both teams. I know very well how important this game will be and I also know that the match between Buriram and Muang Thong means more than just a normal football game," said the former Germany U20 forward.
"I am very excited and I know the atmosphere will be great in this very important match.
"Buriram are a strong team but we have a plan and we will be ready to surprise them. If we can execute our game plan and follow the coach's tactics, I believe we can have a good result tomorrow," he added.
Muang Thong are currently in eighth place in the 16-team league standings with 20 points while Buriram are on top with 33 points. Both teams have played 13 games.
The match at Chang Arena will kick off at 7pm.
Meanwhile, Buriram chairman Newin Chidchob defended the team's decision to put Suphanat Mueanta, Pansa Hemviboon, and Seksan Ratreeinclude in the squad for the FA Cup game on Wednesday night despite the trio being in Thailand's Asean Cup squad.
The move caused a stir among football fans who questioned why the three players left the national team in the middle of the tournament for a club game.
"We had only three substitute players for the game against Mahasarakham [in the FA Cup] so we needed to call up those players." said Newin.
"I informed the FAT chief [Nualphan Lamsam] from the beginning that I needed them to be on Buriram's bench for the game but we wouldn't play them. The stadium was full and we couldn't let the fans down. We couldn't just have the starting 11 and only three players on the bench," he added.
