Thailand were drawn in Group D with Turkmenistan, Taiwan and Sri Lanka for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, which will be staged in Saudi Arabia.
The official draw for the third and final stage of qualifiers was held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
A total of 24 teams were divided into six groups, with only the group winners to advance to the Finals in Saudi Arabia in 2027.
Thailand, with a Fifa ranking of No.97, were placed in Pot 1 and drawn in Group D with Turkmenistan, Taiwan and Sri Lanka.
The qualifiers will kick off on March 25, 2025, with the teams to play on a home and away basis.
The six group winners will join the 18 teams currently competing in the ongoing AFC Asian Qualifiers -- Road to the 2026 World Cup.
Buriram win again
In the Thai League 1 match on Sunday night, Buriram United moved to the top spot in the league standings after thrashing Ratchaburi 6-0 at home.
Brazilian striker Guilherme Bissoli (33, 60, 74, 76) scored four goals, while Chrigor (67) and Jefferson Tabinas (93) contributed one each.
